A group of refugees, newly arrived in Stuttgart, Germany.
135 people were living in a school gym in my neighborhood for more than seven months. No privacy, a lot of noise, no sheltered space for families and small kids, bad food. Some of them were talking about their experiences and allowed me to take photos.
These people represent a great number of children, women and men who are forced to leave their home, searching for a better life in more peaceful regions of the world.
The exhibition centers on the blurry portraits of eight members of this group. A site specific installation points to their individual traumatic experiences, multiplied and retold again and again….
