Hit The Beat: "Treasuring Namibia"

The topics of the Hit The Beat art projects emerge from a dialogue with local environments and participants. The special character of these projects is mostly influenced by found objects or materials and local facilities. Therefore, the outcome of the artworks is unpredictable. Chance plays an important role as well as the stories and intentions of the participating group of people. Together we create interventions in public space, sculptures, paintings, photos or stage settings.

In 2022 Hit The Beat took place in Wolwedans, Namibia. The subject of the project was „Treasuring Namibia“. 35 Trainees of the Wolwedans Lodge were involved. Besides drumming, dancing, choir and communication skills they created sculptures from waste materials. It has been amazing to experience how the subject „Treasuring Namibia“ lead the participants to creative and surprising results.

Today

A group of fighting people in town. Screaming women and a man pushing a buggy with old clothes. Someone called the police. I took a picture of a row of bicycles nearby.
